Course Cancellation: Notification of CEC Course Cancellations Due to Weather: Notification can be as late as 6:00 am the day of the event for courses starting @ 9:30 AM and as late as 3 Hours prior to the start time of an evening clinic. All courses canceled due to weather will be rescheduled at a later date. Students will receive notice of the rescheduled class within 2 days of the canceled clinic. Students not able to attend the rescheduled date will receive a credit toward another CEC course. There are no refunds due to weather cancellations. Weather cancellations will be posted on the "What's New" page and @ 516-222-0001.

Refund Policy / Student Cancellation: The Academy has a No - Refund Policy. Notice of cancellation and rescheduling requests received within 24 hours prior to a clinic, will be eligible to receive a tuition credit, less a 15% cancellation fee. All tuition credits must be redeemed within one year of the original course date. Cancellation notice / rescheduling requests must be sent to the Academy by registered land mail, emailed to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Lateness Policy for Continuing Education Clinics: There is a 15-minute grace period for lateness. After 15-minutes credits will be deducted from the total credit value of the course based on credits per hour.

Registration Confirmation: Confirmations will be forwarded for online registrations. All land mail registrations must contain an email address in order to receive confirmation. Phone confirmation is not available.

Course Location: The Academy may from time to time have to change the location of the course due to unforeseen circumstances. Registrants will be notified no later then 24 hrs in advance of such change. Course relocation is not a reason for a refund.

Carrying over CEC Credits to the Next Certification Period: The AAPTE does not carry over CECs when a student has accrued credits in excess of the required CEC amount for recertification to the following certification time period.

Refresher Course: AAPTE courses are continually updated with new information. Any AAPTE Certified Personal Trainer-Health Fitness Instructor seeking a refresher for a course previously attended within a 2-year recertification period may do so for refresher tuition of $65.00 (within the same 2-year period). When taking a refresher course 2.5 AAPTE CEC's are provided for a 5 CEC course and 1.25 for a 2.5 CEC course. Any course taken again after a 2-year period will provide full credit value and will be at full tuition as information will be added to, updated and modified over a 2-year period. Registration request must be made by calling the AAPTE. Limited space is available for refresher registrations per course and is on a first come first serve basis.
