Want to be able to determine the potental risk or benefit of an exercise? During the course, we will present a deductive step by step Biomechanical Model for Resistance Training analysis. We will address many factors that effect resistance-training exercise by exploring, Mechanics, Physics, Anatomy, and Kinesiology. Participants will have a greater understanding of how to analyze the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of exercise through the use of sound scientific principles combined with an understanding of forces and their potential effect on the musculoskeletal system. 2.5 AAPTE CECs

This continuing education course has been updated to provide advanced training for certified fitness professionals to enable the assessment and design of exercise for special populations and medically cleared clients who may have chronic disease. We will introduce the principles of biomechanical and postural analysis, methods of choosing and progressing exercise. We cover a variety of conditions and diseases associated with special populations, and discuss the scope and responsibility of the fitness professional. You will gain theoretical and practical skills necessary to assess and design client-specific exercise. Topics include rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, diabetes mellitus, obesity, asthma, chronic fatigue syndrome, pregnancy, HIV, cancer, obesity, female triad syndrome, joint , bone and muscle diseases and dysfunction, as well as structural, postural, and muscular integrity assessments. This is a 1to1 educational program designed to increase your understanding of resistance training mechanics and exercise. The program consists of eight, one to one training sessions where you are the student, trainer, and client. Each session will consist of fundamental to progressive theory and hands on training. This course is intended to expand upon your current level of knowledge and practical (hands on) application skill. We will explore the mechanics of resistance training exercises as they apply to the skeletal and muscular system. Upon completion of this course, candidate will receive a Level – 1 Professional Development in Resistance Training Exercise Certificate. 7.0 CECs By appointment – Flexible Schedule

this course will give participants a better understanding of the effects of different resistance training variables on physiology and the physiological response. Training adaptations will be discussed along with common training principles. We will clearly dispel many myths associated with resistance training “programs, theories, and guidelines” and validate those theories that have beneficial physiological responses to resistance training. It is suggested that participants take Neuromuscular Aspects of Resistance Training prior to this lecture, it is not a requirement. 2.5 AAPTE CECs @ PEAK PERFORMANCE in LYNBROOK

9:00 am – 12:00 p.m. We will present updated and conclusive data relative to the neuromuscular system and its response to resistance training exercise. We will discuss how the neuromuscular system is used and its associated responses to various exercise / resistance training methods. Additionally, we will discuss the neuromuscular effects of unilateral training, contra-lateral training, and bilateral deficits. This course is necessary for the trainer seeking a comprehensive introduction and understanding of the neuromuscular system. AAPTE 2.5 CECs @ Peak Performance in Lynbrook

This theory and practical skill course will provide the fitness professional a better understanding of the fundamental aspects of cardiovascular responses and adaptations to cardiovascular resistance training. Topics will include functional capacity of the cardiovascular system, training adaptations, environmental concerns, ergogenic aids, and dehydration. Participants should be prepared to participate during the hands on portion of the course. This course includes demonstrations of anaerobic threshold training, interval, steady state and fartlek protocols. We will also discuss if and when such assessments and protocols are appropriate. AAPTE 5.0 CECs @ Peak Performance 1730 Lakeville Road New Hyde Park, NY (North Shore Commons Plaza)

we will explore the truth of dietary supplements and ergogenic aids. We will look at the safety, regulation, effectiveness and possible adverse side effects. Supplements discussed include creatine, glucosamine chondroitin, ephedra, DHEA, fat absorption blockers and fat burners. We will also look at fad diets and explore the physiological basis of these programs and challenge known diet’s claims to success. 2.5 AAPTE CECs

Theory and Practical Application of the core: Abdominal and Erector Complex. The student will be exposed to the structure and function of the Spine and the direct and indirect muscles associated with its function. We will explore the functional aspects of the Spine and role in structure and function of the body. In addition, we will review and challenge many of the current theories, systems and methods of exercise thought to improve core strength and function. 5.0 AAPTE CECs ACE 0.70
