Cadaver Anatomy - Mechanics - Structure And Function

This course is for those seeking greater understanding and appreciation of the human body’s structures and functions. Participants will enjoy this experience in a state of the art setting, often only for medical students.

This one day course provides a three dimensional, comprehensive orientation, to the skeletal and muscular systems structures, biomechanics and functions. There is not a text book, DVD or Bodies Exhibit that can provide this practical educational experience. For those concerned with blood, this is not a bloody experience.

Participants meet at the Port Jefferson Ferry terminal at 6:45 AM . The ferry departs at 7:00 AM - (All ferry and transportation fees to and from Bridgeport University are included)

Objectives:

  1. Introduce the muscle and skeletal system and its intricacies in a practical - hands on setting.
  2. To provide a comprehensive understand of the structure and function of the major joints, muscles, and their interrelationship to exercise and human movement.
  3. Differentiate the tissue structures of the body (bone, muscle, ligaments, fascia, tendons, and cartilage, view healthy and pathological tissues and structures.

Note: Palpation is allowed and recommended but is not required.
