UPDATED Core Training - A Comprehensive Analysis and Practical Skill Course

Registration is closed for this event
With so much buzz about "core training" and "functional movements" it seems that every exercise is about "core". This course is will address the anatomy of the spine, the associated muscles and bring clarity to the term and intention of "core exercise". There will be significant time allocated for hands-on practical application.

This course will explore the spine, the direct and indirect musculature associated with its function, structural integrity, and mechanical ability. Additionally, we will look at spinal positioning (posture) and its effect on the intervertebral discs, ligaments, mechanical ability and nerves. Lastly, will review and challenge many of the current theories, systems and methods of exercise thought to improve "CORE" from a strength and function perspective. Students will be required to participate in this practical skill, hands-on training course.

Objectives:

  • Provide participants with a functional understanding of the architecture of the spine and each of its interrelated component structures.
  • Offer a step by step method of analysis to determine the safety and efficiency core related exercises.
  • Provide and apply practical skills, tactile and auditory cueing techniques to improve client performance. There will be significant time allocated for hands-on practical application.

Participants will be able to:

  • Analyze, assess and apply strategic strategies of exercise instruction, manipulation, correction and progression.
