AAPTE Terms And Conditions
Cancellation Policy: AAPTE may provide notification of a cancellation as late as six (6:00) AM the day of the event for courses starting @ nine (9:00) AM and as late as three (3) Hours prior to the start time of an afternoon or evening course. Courses cancelled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances will be rescheduled at a later date. Students will receive notice of the rescheduled class within two (2) business days of the cancelled course. Students unable to attend the rescheduled course (date) will receive a credit to apply toward another CEC course. Cancellations information will be posted on one or all of the following:

Registrant Cancellation: The Academy has a No - Refund Policy. Notice of cancellation and rescheduling requests received twenty-four (24) hours prior to a course, will be eligible to receive a tuition credit, less a fifteen (15%) cancellation fee. There are no REFUNDS or CREDIT for CPR-AED COURSES. There is a seventy percent (70%) cancellation fee for the CADAVER ANATOMY course.
All tuition credits issued must be redeemed within one year of the issue date. Cancellation notice / rescheduling requests must be sent to the Academy by registered land mail, emailed to email@example.com, phoned to 631-264-8096 (VOICE MAIL WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED), or faxed to 516-222-0004.
Lateness and Early Departure Policy for Continuing Education Courses: There is a fifteen (15) minute grace period. After the first fifteen (15) minutes and each additional quarter hour, 0.1875 credits will be deducted from the total credit value of the course based on credits issued per hour.
Course Registration Confirmation: Confirmations will be received via email. Please check your spam folder.
Course Location: The Academy may from time to time have to change the location of the course due to unforeseen circumstances. Registrants will be notified no later than 24 hours prior to a course. Course relocation is not a reason for a refund.
Non-Discrimination Policy: The AAPTE does not discriminate against candidates on the basis of race, color, creed, gender, age, religion, national origin, ancestry, disability, military status, sexual orientation, marital status or family status.
Exam Confirmation: Once registration has been completed, the candidate will be notified by email with confirmation of the time and location for the exam. It is suggested that spam folders be checked for exam registration confirmation.
AAPTE Exam Cancellation: In the event of inclement weather, notification of cancellation will be announced on the AAPTE website, Facebook page and on phone line. We recommend candidates check these sources to confirm that the exam is as scheduled.
Candidate Rescheduling: Candidates wishing to reschedule an exam date may do so by calling, emailing or faxing the AAPTE. Rescheduling must be made a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours prior to the exam date. Rescheduled date must be within one year of the original exam date. There will be a twenty-five dollar ($25) administration fee charged for rescheduling. There are no refunds for candidate cancellation.
Failure to Appear: Candidates failing to appear for a scheduled exam date will be charged a twenty-five dollar ($25) administration fee if they wish to reschedule within 1 year, after which time the full registration fee will be required. There will be no refund for fees paid. Candidates may request the rescheduling fee be waived under the following circumstances with valid documentation:
- Serious illness
- Death in family
- Disabling accident
- Court appearance
- Military deployment
All requests must be submitted in writing to the AAPTE, P.O. Box 864, Amityville, NY 11701 within ten (10) business dates of the scheduled exam. Home study courses must be completed during the term of certification. There is a no-refund policy for all home study courses.
By submitting a completed recertification form you attest to the truth and accuracy of the information you have provided to the AAPTE. Additionally, you attest to having a current CPR-AED Certification (online courses are not accepted.)
The AAPTE shall conduct random audits of its recertifying candidates. Upon request, you must provide the AAPTE with the required supporting documents within ninety (90) days of the request. Supporting documentation includes: Proof of course work completion, letters of approved courses that were approved via petition process and CPR-AED card. Documentation must be land mailed to:

Failure to produce supporting documentation within the stated period will render your certification VOID. There will be no further consideration.
In the event of a technology, power, and or systems failure the event will be rescheduled within 72 hours of the initial date. There is a no refund policy for rescheduled events.
Course(s) submitted for petition are not guaranteed to be approved. Petition must include the required information and must meet the AAPTE’s guidelines for approval which can be found online in the Recertification Handbook. Candidates will be notified within ten (10) business days or sooner approval or denial. There is a no refund policy for the petition process.
Courses paid using the Installment Plan option have a no refund policy. First payment upon registration. The balance, along with a $20 administrative fee, billed to credit card 30 days prior to the course start date.
I understand that I am responsible to monitor my own exercise abilities throughout the lab sessions and assume risk of participating in such exercises. I further agree to hold harmless the AAPTE, its affiliates and its staff members conducting the program from any and all claims, suits, losses or related cause of action for damages during or arising in any way from the program.
