Through discussion and practical application of exercise analysis students will learn how to optimize strength by manipulating an exercise.

Students will also be able to answer:

  • If resistance changes throughout the joint motion of an exercise?
  • What affects the ability of a muscle to produce force?
  • If a joint position can enhance or impede muscles mechanical ability?

The course will include a home-study portion. Must be watched prior to the hands-on portion.

Topic's include:

  • Resistance/strength Profile
  • Internal/external moment arm
  • Resistive force/torque
  • Line of resistance
  • Active and passive insufficiency
