We will eliminate the confusion and persuasion of marketing, Social Media Exercise Experts (Fitness Gurus) and personal biases as to what a “good exercise” is and why the number of likes, followers, and videos of results alone are a very poor measure an exercise experts “knowledge”.
This course will present information rooted in Resistance Training Specialist (RTS) concepts that will help the fitness professional understand how to question their judgement and decision making process using key principles and theories.
A series of comprehensive, analytical principles and perspectives will be used to provide a strategic and deductive step-by-step biomechanical model of risk / benefit analysis.
Several examples from the "Exercise Experts" will be analyzed; the results of the analyses will surprise you...
Objectives:
- Present a model of exercise analysis that is applicable to any position or movement.
- Present a method of deductive thinking that enables the fitness professional the ability to better understand the opportunities as well as the limits inherent to the human body relative to resistance training exercise.
- Apply concepts of mechanics, physics, anatomy, physiology and kinesiology to exercise analysis.
Participants will be able to:
- Analyze a variety of exercises relative to its position and motion and forces placed upon the musculoskeletal system.
- Determine the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness through the use of sound scientific methods and principles.
- Describe the interrelationships of joints, position(s), direction of force(s), location of force(s) and muscle tension relationships to assess the functional versus dysfunctional aspects of an “exercise”.
