Neuromuscular Aspects of Human Performance *NEW for 2020

This course includes a discussion on the neuromuscular involvement in human performance. Including a review of muscle physiology, the effects of fatigue on neuromuscular function and the different types of overload stimulus that are required to elicit specific training adaptations. AAPTE 2.5 CEC

Students will learn to:

  • Explain the structure and function of the motor aspects of the nervous and skeletal muscle systems
  • Identify the central and peripheral nervous system components that contribute neuromuscular fatigue
  • Describe the acute responses of the neuromuscular system during exercise
  • Describe the chronic adaptations of the neuromuscular system as a result of exercise
