Lifespan motor development part II (Does not require completion of part 1 to complete this course)

This course includes a comprehensive overview of motor development across the lifespan from infancy through older adulthood.

This course includes a homestudy portion that will include self read articles and a written assignment. 

There will be a focus on behavioral aspects, such as movement patterns and developmental sequences, and underlying mechanisms that are related to changes in these aspects.

Upon completion of the course, students should be able to:

 - define and discuss key terms, concepts, and theories related to motor development

 - Understand the notion of constraints (individual, environmental, and task)

 - describe atypical motor development

 - Describe the effects of aging on motor development

 - Development and aging of body systems

 - Apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting

 - Discuss effective cueing to improve motor skill
